Taylor County is seeking a full-time Maintenance Director. The Maintenance Director ensures that county buildings, grounds, parks and their systems are maintained. Director is responsible for repairing, remodeling or replacing County buildings, as well as, ensuring the building HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security, alarms and other systems are adequately functioning. Maintains the grounds around County buildings including the fairgrounds and parking lots. Oversees the County park system, campgrounds and the Winter Sports Area. Ensures all mandated state safety inspections are completed and comply. Supervises and assigns duties to maintenance and housekeeping staff. Prepares and administers budgets for the buildings, grounds, parks and systems. Responds to off-hours building emergencies and issues.
Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent. A degree in Facilities or Building Management, HVAC certification, five years of building construction, electrical, plumbing and HVAC experience, familiarity of commercial building codes, supervisory management experience and budget/financial experience is required or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities to fulfill the position will be considered. A valid driver’s license is required. Knowledge and experience in repairing detention components in a jail setting is preferred.
