Application Deadline: Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. The City of Faribault has openings for Paid On-Call Firefighters. Primary responsibilities of this position are to protect life and property by performing firefighting activities, emergency aid and hazardous materials response, and fire prevention duties. This position may also be required to maintain fire equipment, apparatus and facilities. Paid on-call firefighters train to the same standards as full-time personnel. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • High School diploma or GED equivalent. • Must possess a current and valid Minnesota Drivers license. • All paid on-call firefighters shall have a response requirement of 20 minutes with the time measured from their residence to the fire station. All traffic regulations, including speed limits must be adhered to.
• Must pass physical ability test. • Must be able to abide by all grooming standards set forth in guidelines.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: • First Responder certification • Current EMT certification • MNEMSRB certification • Completed coursework in Firefighter I • Completed coursework in Firefighter II • Associates degree in fire science or related field (These are not necessary to have to apply and the City will provide training) Application Instructions Applicants must submit City application packet to be eligible for this position.
