The City of Paynesville is accepting applications to fill the position of Motor Vehicle Specialist and to create an eligibility list. As a DVS agent for the MN Department of Public Safety, Driver and Vehicle Services, one will provide customer service to all persons who seek information on all classes of Motor Vehicle Registration, MN identification card or driver’s license, new or renewal; examine and verify all original documents presented to determine authenticity; assist state examiners as needed while they administer written and skills tests; and process applications, vision testing, and signature/picture accurately into the State system.
Responsible for collecting appropriate fees, balancing, and accurately receipting fees. Issue DNR licenses and stickers through the Electronic License System (ELS).

Customer service is vital, applicants must provide superior customer service. *Ability to multi task in a fast paced environment with continual interruptions. *Meticulous attention to detail; accuracy and thoroughness is a priority. *Capable of monitoring and implementing legislative changes, statutes, and laws related to licensing and titles on a regular basis. *Assist customers with problem solving to obtain the licenses or documents they need. *Strive to continuously build work related knowledge and skills on a variety of documents and software systems.
The wage is $15.30 per hour, Grade 5/Step 1 plus a full benefit package including nine paid holidays, health insurance ($695.00 City contribution for single or family premium coverage), Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA), short term & long term disability, life insurance, dental, AFLAC, paid time off (PTO), paid training opportunities, and more.
